This village is the departure point for boat trips to the Blue Grotto, a popular beauty spot on Malta.
The small boats leave from the rocky inlet of Wied iz-Zurrieq below the town for a 25-minute tour of the sea caves and arches, which are carved out of the rugged limestone cliffs. The water in the caves is amazingly clear, and the reflection of the sunlight turns it a striking, deep-blue color.
5.5 mi/9 km south of Valletta.
