Once Acapulco's most exclusive hotel, this six-hectare resort used to be a haven for show-biz glitterati: Elizabeth Taylor married Mike Todd and the Nixons spent their 25th anniversary here. The hotel later fell into serious decline, but new owners have brought it back into contention as a time-share resort, which has changed its tenor. Out of all the hotels in Acapulco, this is the only one with a distinctly Mexican feel, and guest should not expect a modern, antiseptic resort.
