Vichy, an ancient capital of France 200 mi/320 km southeast of Paris, is famous for its spas and mineral water. During World War II, the collaborationist government of Petain and Laval was based in Vichy, giving the town a less than enviable reputation. The city is an old resort area with a casino. It's a pleasant place to relax for a few days.
