Visitors to Vancouver will find a full range of accommodations, from bed-and-breakfasts to luxury hotels with views of the harbor and mountains. Most of the hotels are modern high-rises, and several of the best are clustered around the city center, near shopping and attractions such as the Vancouver Art Gallery.
Vancouver's high season runs mid-June to mid-September, when the city fills up with tourists and conventioneers, and rooms in larger hotels become scarce. Our advice: Book well ahead if you're planning a trip during the summer months or planning to attend the 2010 Winter Olympics. Accommodations in the spring and fall are much easier to find, and rates tend to be somewhat lower. In addition to the room price, apply an extra 10% PST and 5% GST to the overall price.
