This five-story hotel wraps around a main pool and a waterfall, and a circular drive swings up to the huge open-air lobby, which is cool, open and busy. Exhaust fumes from idling cars can be quite unpleasant at times.
Inside, tones of lavender, teal and coral on white rattan were once vivid and cheerful, but have been showing wear for years. But the refreshed look following Hurricane Ivan is proving popular with guests.
