In the heart of peanut-growing country, Touba is the spiritual center of the Islamic Mouride Brotherhood.
The group plays an important role in the religious life of millions of Senegalese. Touba's Grand Mosque is the largest in the country and has minarets that are 260 ft/80 m tall, with wonderful views of the town and countryside. (You'll probably want to avoid Touba during Magal, a religious pilgrimage that draws hordes of people to the mosque.)
