Building up an appetite is worth it for those dining at Azure, the hotel's signature restaurant decked out in bright tones of its namesake—navy glassware, sky-blue fabrics, and even royal cobalt stripes on the walls (a refurbishment was underway at inspection). Three meals a day comprise regionally inspired cuisine prepared using local ingredients. A full English breakfast is offered to each guest as part of the rates. An all-hours cafe supplies jetlagged guests with nourishment. Most amusing is the bar with its dozens of martini selections, a long
list of ports and a formal afternoon tea. At inspection, plans were underway to revamp the space with hardwood paneling and more contemporary furnishings.
Wireless Internet access is available throughout public areas, and a business center offers two computers and a printer. New meeting areas have begun to attract groups and business meetings again. A cinema even offers the latest features with fresh popcorn. The artistic can make use of the hotel's watercolor paints and supplies to create masterpieces.
A multilevel rock pool attracts significant attention from sun-starved guests who also lounge about in the padded sun beds. Stepping into the mountain, spagoers indulge in only the most exotic treatments. A gym is on hand, and passes to a nearby health club are also available.
Meeting rooms bring together 90 business guests with the requisite audiovisual capabilities. Shuttles rush guests to the city center on a set schedule, and a helicopter pad accommodates high-rollers coming directly from the airport.
Six guest rooms have undergone renovations as part of the pilot program for the rest of the rooms. Everything from new furniture to fabrics is stealing the scene. Rooms feature light colors and dark-wood accents, although varying themes add an eclectic touch, including African, Shell and Nautical twists. Beds boast plush, feathery white duvets, and guest rooms feature tremendously large walls of windows. Flat-screen TVs offer international programming, DVD players and Internet access. One-bedroom suites now enjoy sunken living areas where gorgeous
sea views can be enjoyed. Furnished balconies also supply an area for enjoying the natural beauty. Beige marble baths feature engulfing towels, glass-walled showers, robes, slippers, hair dryers and refreshing toiletries.
Views range from ocean to mountain vistas, and female travelers have a dedicated set of rooms. Management is creating additional connecting rooms to accommodate the increase in family visits. Room service never ceases, and neither does the repeat guest list. Pets are not allowed.
