Located six miles south of Laguna Beach, this place remains one of the most vaunted resorts on the California coast, but it shares some of the limelight with its neighbors, the Montage in Laguna Beach, and to a lesser degree, the St. Regis in Laguna Beach. The latter's overt corporate air and distant peeks of the ocean make it a modest fit for leisure travelers looking for a seaside retreat.
