Formerly the Pierre Marques, this property has close to 350 guest rooms but still has the feel of a boutique hotel compared to its sister next door, the gargantuan Fairmont Princess. Built almost 50 years ago by J. Paul Getty, the hotel exhibits a midcentury modernism that looks just as impressive today, a testimony to its ageless, garden-style architecture. It also continues to benefit from a renovation that began when Fairmont took over operations.
