This friendly hotel is close to the downtown area, though not within walking distance, and walking here after 8 pm is discouraged by management. Guests arrive via a front driveway, which surrounds a small fountain, and check in at the small front office, which provides little place for guests to linger.
The furniture and decor are forgettable throughout the property. The small restaurant caters to guests throughout the day, and a small bar sits next to the pool.
A cascading waterfall adds life to an otherwise boring pool area. Laundry services are also available.
The primary clientele here are business travelers and tour groups from Europe, but it seems that there are few business amenities to accommodate them. The limited services include a conference room and single computer set up with Internet access for a small price, and wireless Internet access is available throughout the property for the same. A fitness room was
in the works at inspection.
Rooms are very spacious but sparsely furnished. The attempt to convey an island theme in the rooms is overshadowed by the disappointing style. Common throughout are phones with voice mail and data ports, TVs, small refrigerators, irons, safes, hair dryers and air-conditioning. The boring shower-only baths offer few amenities for the traveler. Standard units make up the majority of the room count, but suites are available and consist of two bedrooms and a living room. Second-floor rooms have vaulted wood ceilings. A recent coat of paint has brightened up the rooms a bit.
This property is an acceptable place to stay when the bigger properties with more amenities are full. This operation more closely resembles an upscale U.S. motel than a tropical-island hotel.
