Professional Review
In this once historic, now artsy, town known formerly for whaling, sits a brick Gothic Revival building dating from 1846. Once a whaler's inn, this is a clubby, idiosyncratic institution, open year-round, loosely run in friendly fashion, and filled with locals, writers and those celebs who feel at home in eccentric surroundings. With just eight rooms available, this place might seem inherently tranquil, but the celebrated dining room creates a lively (some might say boisterous) environment.
