Accommodations range from deluxe international hotels and resorts to poorly maintained local properties. Hotel space is fairly limited, so be sure to make reservations prior to arrival and, if possible, get confirmation in writing. Village campements, simple inns run by villagers whose profits are used for community projects, are an interesting and economical form of lodging in selected towns. In general, accommodations are twice as much as those of other West African countries, so budget accordingly.
