The shingled and shuttered Loyalist House is one of the city's oldest wooden houses, dating from 1810. It's a fine specimen of the Georgian-style homes built by the first prosperous settlers and has a splendid collection of furniture dating from 1833 or earlier. Be sure to ask about the Mayor's Tea, traditionally held Wednesday afternoons in July and August 1:30-3 pm, no reservations needed. Open June Monday-Friday 10 am-5 pm, Sunday noon-5 pm; July to mid-September Monday-Saturday 10 am-5 pm, Sunday noon-5 pm.
