The Grand Baie tourist resort, 15 mi/25 km northeast of Port Louis, is the centerpiece of this area of Mauritius. Several islands off the northern coast may be visited, including Coin de Mire (with the oddly named Madam's Hole Cave) and Ile Plate, which has a nice lighthouse.
