At the north end of Bavaro, on Playa Arena Gorda, this resort is sandwiched behind the Rio Taino hotel within the vast Riu complex, encompassing five hotels. The Riu Naiboa is very clearly the starter hotel among the clique. Despite its extravagant use of thatch roofing and lush landscaping, it fails to compete with other high-end all-inclusives in the region, or with its siblings here, and there is no single element that makes it stand out from the pack.
