A coffee plantation and grain mill built in 1833, the Hacienda Buena Vista rests in the verdant hills northwest of Ponce. The plantation house and the coffee machinery have been meticulously restored, providing glimpses of what life was like when slavery and water-powered machinery were mainstays on plantations. Although you can't sample coffee on the 90-minute tours, you can buy coffee beans and souvenirs at the gift shop. Reservations are recommended.
