Palm Springs Hotel Guide

Guide to Palm Springs Hotels

It's hard to imagine anywhere else in the world with such an astounding and eclectic range of hotels. Palm Springs alone has well over 100 hotels, many of them able to brag that Sinatra or Marilyn or Churchill slept there. Visitors can take their pick from Modernist-motel style classics or intimate bed-and-breakfast inns to ritzy spa-resorts with championship golf courses. There are even a dozen or so nudist resorts, and even more exclusively gay hotels—many of them risque, to say the least.

Palm Springs proper is renowned for its midcentury Modernist motels, revived by aesthetes who have furnished them with retro chic, where visitors can feel like the Hollywood celebrities who are often spotted there as they sip their chilled martinis poolside. Desert Hot Springs is acclaimed for its intimate spa hotels, while the down-valley towns of Palm Desert, Indian Wells and La Quinta offer some of the finest large-scale deluxe resorts in the nation.

Other big-ticket accommodations include literally thousands of private homes and condos that are available as vacation rentals.
