The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) is in North Adams. Describing itself as a supercollider for the arts, the museum is a must-visit for contemporary art fans.
The 27 buildings that make up the museum were once part of a textile mill. They now house temporary exhibits that include film, video and multimedia works. Enormous galleries make it a spectacular space for large-scale installations. During summer months, movies and performances are held outdoors.
