This refreshingly low-key stone lodge, which started life as a tented camp in the 1960s, overlooks a seasonal freshwater body called Lake Ndutu, about 30 kilometers south of the Naabi Hill entrance gate and Olduvai Gorge, 80 kilometers southeast of Seronera and 280 kilometers from Arusha. It technically falls within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, but its location on the southeastern border of Serengeti National Park, 80 kilometers west of Ngorongoro Crater, makes it better suited to exploring
