This hotel, on the top 20 floors of a 42-story building, opposite the train station, adjacent to the Palace of Culture and Science, opened in 1989 and was the first hotel to bring Polish housekeeping up to Western standards. Exemplary service and maintenance standards still draw international business travelers, but competition from the snazzy Westin and nearby InterContinental necessitates that management here rethink its game plan.
