For the past 400 years, this farm has been the home of the world-famous Lipizzan horses. The stables, opened by Austrian Archduke Karl in the 1580s, continue to breed some of the best horses in the world.
Visit the stables and the riding school (which has pony rides for children), then tour the countryside in one of the antique coaches. During the summer, the Lipizzan horses perform several times a week. Lipica is located near
Sezana in the Karst region, a part of the country that contains thousands of caves. The best are Skocjan (a UNESCO natural monument) and Postojna.
