Intimate La Residence, still called Pansea by locals, perches atop the Hill of Kites (Phou Vao) 3 km from the center of Luang Prabang. Set amid 3 hectares of well-landscaped gardens and pools with splashing fountains, this hotel maintains an atmosphere of secluded, polished luxury. Renovations in 2002 joined every two rooms into one, doubling room size but halving the total number of rooms in the resort. The effect is an exclusive resort, with very personalized service.
