Operated in conjunction with the Crowne Plaza, this property is a smaller but more efficient version of the larger commercial hotels here, priced at about the same rates.
This 10-story hotel is pocked with recessed windows and a panoramic glass elevator that rises to a rooftop pool with some of the best views in Guadalajara. (The city center is visible 5 km away.) The entrance is glossy from the polished marble floor to the shimmering glass fountain. Two leather sofas provide comfort, and the centerpiece
(a large, metal hand with faces on each finger) attracts attention.
The rest of the ground floor gives way to the sunny Girasoles cafe (open from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm). The menu is both national and international, and buffets are common. Room service also stops at 11:30 pm. The lobby bar, which used to be a sushi bar, serves a varied selection of wine and spirits.
A pool
and modest gym with shoulder-high mirrors are token recreational offerings. The hotel caters to small groups that book mezzanine meeting space (capacity 450 people). Valet parking charges a modest fee, though guests can self-park (for the same fee). An ATM is on-site.
The contemporary guest rooms would be fitting in Burbank. Green drapes and sofas play off mahogany contrasts in true Holiday Inn style. All rooms have torchere lighting, cushioned armchairs, desks, chrome reading lights, small, soundproofed windows and combination baths. For a slight surcharge, the larger premium rooms on the top three floors add armchairs and ottomans, data ports, window-walls with nice views, express check-in and free Continental breakfast.
This hotel is perfect for those who have overdosed on folkloric Mexican style and are seeking refuge in a "Made in USA" hotel with a slick veneer.
