The elegant town center is the site of Old Ship Church, the oldest wooden church in continuous use in the nation. It was built in 1681 by ship carpenters. World's End Reservation, a 250-acre/100-hectare harborside estate, was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, architect of New York's Central Park. 15 mi/25 km southeast of Boston.
