This historical landmark is displayed on the lawn of the public library. It was once used in ceremonies to sever the umbilical cords of royal children and to test the claims of royal blood in newborn males. The stone is also associated with King Kamehameha the Great. Legend has it that the young Kamehameha proved his strength as a warrior by overturning the huge stone. Waianuenue Avenue, Hilo.
