When Harrah's Casino opened in 1999, it did not have a hotel and used neighboring properties—Hilton Riverside, Doubletree, and Wyndham Riverfront—for housing guests. However, in September 2006 that changed with the opening of the Harrah's hotel in a 26-story tower across the street. As a way of blending the old with the new, the buildings combines a wrought-iron and flower box facade on the first three floors with southern styling as it rises to the top-floor suites.
