There are many well-run resorts and organized tours in Guyana's interior. Most are based around ecotourism and offer close contact with Guyana's indigenous people, the Amerindians. In these tranquil settings, you can choose to just chill out, trek through the rain forest or participate in the many outdoor sports—camping, canoeing, swimming, fishing, waterskiing, beach volleyball, golf, cricket, horse riding, badminton, table tennis, table football, board games or simply sunbathing.
Some resorts provide standard, superior and deluxe rooms, and others offer the experience of sleeping in comfortable cabanas or log cabins. Most of the resorts offer honeymoon packages.
