A short drive east of the Fraser River, Kamloops makes a convenient stop on the way to or from Jasper or Banff, Alberta. The town is a popular base for trout fishing in the area lakes. Other attractions include a museum and art gallery, two-hour riverboat rides, river beaches, waterslides and the Kamloops Wildlife Park, a natural setting with buffalo and cougars.
