Often overlooked by leisure travelers, this family-owned hotel behind the Fairmont Empress offers solid value. It occupies part of a 17-story building with a flower-bedecked entrance and is within walking distance of almost everything.
The small tiled lobby does not hint at the breadth of facilities and comforts here. Instead, it conveys a residential feeling, with wood paneling, traditional furnishings, a newsstand and uniformed staffers at the busy front desk.
