Most local events are centered on Colonial Williamsburg, which stages numerous festivals, theatrical performances and celebrations throughout the year. Events geared to the arts generally are held during March and April.

8-10 AugHampton Cup Regatta. This annual motorized boat race takes place on Mill Creek in Hampton, about 30 minutes east of Williamsburg.
