This imaginative re-creation of a 17th-century English village strikes some as a tourist trap and others as genuinely novel, if kitschy.
Located in the Esquimalt neighborhood about a 15-minute drive from downtown, it includes replicas of Shakespeare's birthplace and Anne Hathaway's cottage, as well as a 1906 manor house, but new ownership has brought a more contemporary feel to some areas. Fortunately, the gardens remain lush and inviting.
