There are only two very small hotels (the Pucic Palace and Stari Grad Hotel) within the city walls, so virtually all visitors stay in one of the outer districts. However, there are several hotels within a few minutes walk from the city gates, and others are served by a very regular bus service, which is modern, inexpensive and reliable. A few hotels have private boat services that operate in the old city harbor. The city has plenty of five-star hotels, as well as more basic options for budget travelers. Apartment rentals, ranging from private rooms or full apartments to deluxe villas, are also available.
