Beau Rivage reopened 29 August 2006, on the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The 32-story resort hotel, with 1,740 rooms, is the largest in Mississippi and one of the largest in the entire Southeast. The resort known as the Crown Jewel of the Mississippi Gulf Coast originally cost US$800 million, and US$550 million was invested after Hurricane Katrina to completely renovate it.
The casino has 2,200 slot machines, 103 table games, a high-limit roulette wheel and a 16-table, two-tier poker room, as well as seven restaurants (with a total of 11 planned). Weekends feature acts from top national stars. There are four bars and lounges, plus a spa and salon, shops, and the nearby Fallen Oak Golf Course designed by Tom Fazio.
