This resort encompasses areas throughout this mountain-base town. Each section of this resort has its own 24-hour reception, concierge, housekeeping, and free shuttles to the slopes in winter. Standards are high, and management doesn't hesitate to remove those that no longer make the grade. Smoking is not allowed here. Having one's own transport is essential, since there is no local shuttle. Guests throughout have access to spa, pools and exercise facilities at Huntley Lodge.
The resort has several condominium complexes that are rented, including the Arrowhead, Big Horn, Stillwater, Saddle Ridge and Beaverhead. Ski-in, ski-out access is the main draw at Arrowhead. Individually decorated tri-level
units feature fireplaces, balconies, laundry facilities, hot tubs, three bedrooms, three baths and an additional half-bath.
Big Horn is the nearest to the slopes and offers garages and dramatic views, while Stillwater provides the most variety but is the farthest from the slopes. Its studios and rooms, with or without lofts, make up the bulk of the accommodations in Big Sky and post the lowest rates. Some studios are small with kitchens and Murphy beds. The reduced rates mean guest share central laundry rooms and units lack dining areas.
The two- and three-bedroom town
houses in Saddle Ridge sleep six to 10 in loft-style luxury, and the balconies overlook Lone Mountain and Spanish Peaks. Guests pay the most for Beaverhead's elegant public areas and designer lodging. With two to four bedrooms and at least the same number of baths, these high-end apartments provide fireplaces, hot tubs, laundry facilities, balconies and garages.
With an efficient, if somewhat invisible staff, this is a busy place where three- to seven-day minimums are in effect at certain times, and reservations should be made well in advance for peak season.
