This largely undeveloped area in western Cyprus has several good hiking trails, including two that begin at the Baths of Aphrodite (unfortunately, you cannot swim in the natural pools there).
The ancient city of Marion is nearby, and there are good beaches and accommodations at
Polis. Visit the green turtle conservation project at
Lara, too. Many companies also operate four-wheel-drive excursions to Akamas, taking guests off the beaten track to some of the best swimming beaches.
