A two-minute walk from the entrance gate, this is Petra's tour de force, a fanciful melange of regional and Western, contemporary and traditional styling. Service appears to have settled at a good, if not quite stellar, level when the opening rush of dignitaries dried up. It appears that the staff has begun to have its fill of camera-toting foreigners, although they consistently wear a smile.
