Koge, Denmark, is a great shopping town just 22 mi/35 km southwest of Copenhagen, with a cobbled market square and many half-timbered houses. Most of the first-rate shops and restaurants are in historic houses that date back to the Middle Ages. Koge also has a good town museum.
Just south of town is Vallo Castle, which is noted for its lovely tulip gardens. Be sure to see the beautiful chalk-cliff formation of Stevns Klint, 16 mi/25 km southeast of Koge. http://www.visitkoege.com.
