The Movenpick Hotel Saigon opened in 1994 as the Omni. It is only 10 minutes to the Tan Son Nhat Airport and the exhibition center and 20 minutes from the Ho Chi Minh city center. The hotel was rebranded a Movenpick with plans to renovate and upgrade in 2009-2010. Some changes have taken place and it was named first runner-up in the retrofitted buildings category based on its energy-saving additions.
