Located just north of Anchorage in the Talkeetna Mountains, this lodge is among Alaska's best bear camps.
July is the best time for viewing since bears have left their mountain areas and are on streams looking for king salmon. The largest bears typically prowl the streams later in the day, which is no problem since Alaska gets nearly 19 hours of sunlight in summer.
