This Transylvanian city, bisected by the Somes River, reflects a strong Hungarian influence (the region was once part of Hungary). Start your tour of the town's attractions with the 14th-century St. Michael's Church (Biserica Sf. Mihail) and its statue of the great Hungarian King Matthias. The city has a few good museums to check out: the National Art Museum (in a former palace), the Pharmacy Museum and the History Museum. Other sights include numerous churches, the lovely botanical gardens (the largest in Europe) and a citadel.
