Azamara Cruises' 694-passenger Azamara Quest begins sailing in Asia in December 2008. By using docks that can accommodate smaller ships, the
Quest, will be able to navigate its ships close to main cities in Thailand and Vietnam. In Bangkok, the
Quest will dock about 30 minutes from the city center, while larger cruise ships dock two-and-a-half to three hours away. In Ho Chi Minh City, the she will dock at Saigon Port, approximately three miles from the city center.
The ship will overnight in 10 ports during its 2009-2010 Asia season. She will depart from three homeports, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore, and will sail a series of 14- to 18-day southeast and northeast Asia cruises and two 24-day repositioning trips, each featuring two to six overnight calls. The Quest also will visit three ports that will be new for Azamara: Nagasaki, Japan; Phuket, Thailand; and Taipei, Taiwan.
