Maya Beach, Thailand
You may recognize Phi Phi Island from the 2000 Leonardo Di Caprio film The Beach. After being struck by a tsunami in 2004, Phi Phi Island was in shambles, but it is recovering beautifully and regaining its reputation as a secluded paradise. The high cliffs that line the inlet make Maya Beach the perfect spot for peaceful isolated relaxation.
Stay in Phuket and take a day trip to the Phi Phi Islands. The Amanpuri Hotel offers the same luxurious accommodations as other first-rate hotels in the area, but with a more secluded setting.

Wineglass Bay, Australia
Tasmania’s most beautiful attractions. Lush green forest lines the turquoise waters of this Australian paradise. Try a hike up one of the surrounding mountains; a bird’s eye view reveals the picture-perfect shape from which the bay takes its name.
Freycinet Lodge is closest to the beach, but if you want a more unique experience, stay at the Henry Jones Art Hotel. The boutique property was formerly a jam factory.
