Schloss Velden opened in June 2007 as a year-round premium resort and the centerpiece of a sophisticated lakeside village that is under development. The hotel itself is a blend of old and new as it offers 39 guest rooms in the original, main house and 66 rooms in a modern addition, designed by architects Jabonegg & Palffy.Built as a private estate in 1590, the castle burned—along with most of the village—in the late 1800s.
